Connecticut people, do I have some good news for you!

Connecticut is home of the chic hair salon, Gina Bianca, located in Southington, CT. I went there to have my roots filled in and a treatment, along with a hair cut. I have to say, if you live in CT, you’re pretty lucky since you have this salon literally right there. I drove 3 hours to go here, and it was worth every mile. My hair is blonde, healthy, and soooo shiny.
I got to work with Elise Bean, one of the hair care professionals. Elise took a before picture of my hair in their little photo corner, which is the first time I’ve seen it utilized properly in a hair salon. Elise was able to show me the transformation she was able to complete, and I was able to feel good about my self care investment.

One thing I have to say about this salon is that no one judges you for having roots that have been grown out 2 months too late. I am an extremely busy person who can’t make it back to the salon every 6-8 weeks to sit in a chair and do nothing for 4 hours; it’s just not plausible with my schedule. At Gina Bianca, that doesn’t matter at all. I mentioned multiple times how my roots are grown out and how I don’t have time, and instead of hardcore judging me, Elise suggested that along with my root touch up (and the lightening treatment I asked for since I want to go platinum this summer), we do a color melt so I can get a couple more weeks out of my hair. I said go for it! I was so glad when she said that; she gave a constructive answer that helped both of us in that situation. I’ve been to other salons that have looked at my roots with an eye roll, and one place even told me that I didn’t deserve highlights, so the problem solving at Gina Bianca was relieving and made my visit a thousand times better.

I also added on the Awapuhi Wild Ginger treatment, which makes hair stronger and reduces breakage by 80%. Hair breakage and split ends have always been a problem for me considering I’ve been attempting to grow my hair out for years. This treatment also made me hair so incredibly soft, I couldn’t believe it. Awapuhi is a brand by Paul Mitchell that is 100% organic, and you can even visit the Awapuhi farm in Hawaii. (Bucket list!)
After 4 bowls of hair dye (yes, 4), a treatment, and a trim of the dead ends, my hair was back to its shiny and soft self. I was so glad with how it turned out, and I highly recommend this place!! All of the staff are super friendly and attentive, the products they use work miracles on even the most unruly of hair, the salon works on reducing their waste, AND there's a Chick-Fil-A about 5 minutes away...need I say more?
